FOCUSES
1) Stay relaxed - Wide stand and put the racket in front of you
2) Keep the upper body active!
3) Reach the shuttle as soon as possible. Get the elbow out in front of you.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Especially in doubles there will be a lot of smashes around the body. Being able to control a fast shuttle towards your body is a key element in doubles. It's a bit difficult to master and to practise. However it should be considered nessecary for all badminton players.
