BHOJAN GRIHA , KATHMANDU !

The most ambitious of the city's traditional Newari restaurants, Bhojan Griha is located in a restored 150-year-old mansion in Dilli Bazaar. There's a cultural show at 7pm. Bhojan Griha is a great restaurant offering authentic Nepali food. The Thali plates are great. The building has historical significance, ensure you look at some of the paintings and also the carved artwork in the bar. The manager not only ensures that everything is done properly, he is a wealth of knowledge and great to talk to. The restaurant also has live traditional music and Nepali dances throughout the evening. !
Most of the seating is traditional (ie on cushions on the floor), although these are actually legless chairs, which saves your back and knees. In an effort to reduce waste, plastic is not used in the restaurant and mineral water is bought in bulk and sold by the glass.
