Constructing Seperewa Harps in Ghana

Constructing Seperewa Harps in Ghana The seperewa is a harp-lute that has a long tradition amongst the Akan. Few musicians still play it today but it is taught at the University of Ghana and Winneba College by Osei Kwame Korankye.

Instrument construction was undertaken by Colter, Alpha, and Kwame. Special thanks to James Simon for the maple necks.

The new instruments are played here by Osei Korankye and his daughter Abena Serwaa: "ɛmmere hyina nsɛ"
