When looking at systems within most modern cars, CAN is still the obvious solution and remains the primary technology for networking. The support for CAN is well established and has been for many years, however there were few options available for more advanced and high-level tooling. Mobica saw this as a challenge and started developing CANdevStudio, using GENIVI to host the collaborative project among their many open source projects. CANdevStudio is a cost-effective, cross-platform (Windows, Linux, Mac) replacement for CAN simulation software. It can work with several professional CAN hardware interfaces, as well as simulated/virtual setups that allow anyone to develop CAN software with next to no investment.
Having delivered a solution that supports ECU development, Mobica’s Automotive Solutions Architect Remigiusz Kołłątaj was named one of GENIVI’s Most Valuable Contributors (MVC) - a title awarded to individuals and companies who have contributed significantly in the areas of code contributions and technical leadership.
CANdevStudio is available to use now and GENIVI has integrated it into the GENIVI Software Development Environment (SDE) following its success.
